Hair Weaving Techniques

There are many hair weaving techniques. The most common are: bonding, braid weaving, net weaving, infusion. There are two different categories of weaving: temporary or permanent.

- Bonding is a temporary weaving technique. You can wear this weave for a Holiday or for a special occasion like a Wedding. Hair glue is used to add the pieces of wefted hair to your own hair. This process of putting the hair in and taking it out should be done by a professional. The cost is typically $15.00 per track.

Permanent Hair Weaving Techniques

- Braid weaving is for people who want to wear weave to add length or thickness to their hair. It lasts anywhere from two to three months where you cornrow your hair first and then sew the pieces of wefted hair to your own hair. Only professional can do this process. The cost is typically around $300.

- Net weaving is for people who have problems with balding in the top, hair loss and hair thinning. It lasts anywhere from two to three months where you attach the net to your own hair then attach the hair to the net. Only professional can do this process. The cost typically runs between $195 - $300.

- Infusion lasts anywhere from three to five months where hair is added individually to small hair strands of your own hair. Your hair should be at least five to six inches long. This process can only be done by a professional. The cost typically runs between $800 - $1200 depending on how large or small your head is.

If you plan to wear a weave, you should to match the color and texture of the extensions to your original hair so they blend well. Since weaves blend with your natural hair, weaves need tightening or reattaching when the natural hair grows out.

Hair weaving techniques do not always require the use of glues, which may damage your natural hair.
