Vinegar – Home Remedy for Dandruff

Vinegar is very good for treating dandruff, because it is rich in potassium and enzymes which will aid in the prevention of an itchy scalp and dandruff.

There are various ways you can use vinegar. Most simple and basic method of using it is to add just enough vinegar to color a bowl of warm water. Gently rub the solution into your scalp before going to bed.

Wrap your head in a towel so that the solution does not evaporate or soak away into your pillow. Do this every night for 2 weeks, and you should see a huge improvement in your dandruff situation.

You can also try this recipe: mix 4 tablespoons of white vinegar together with 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Gently massage (using circular rubbing motion) the mixture into your scalp. Leave the solution on between 30 and 60 minutes before washing it off with a gentle shampoo.

Here are three more methods for you to try:

- Mix vinegar and beetroot juice together. Massage it into the scalp, leaving for 10 to 15 minutes and then rinsing the mixture out.

- Use apple cider vinegar diluted or undiluted. In the first case, add one part vinegar to three parts warm water before gently massaging the solution into your scalp. Leave the solution on your head for 60 minutes hour before washing out with a gentle shampoo. For more severe case of dandruff, you can use apple cider vinegar in the same way in its undiluted form.

- Mix together one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, 2 tablespoons of cornmeal or oatmeal and half a cup of grape seed oil. Mix until you have a thick, coagulated paste and then apply the mixture to your scalp. Leave the substance on your head for about one hour before rinsing off and shampooing.
