- Use a teasing comb to portion off 1-to-2-inch sections of hair beginning at the top of your head.
- Place the comb at the center of the section from the underneath of the hair. Move the comb away from the hair’s grain. This way you will rough up the cuticle instead of smoothing it. Create four teased-up sections from the top of your head.
- Use your fingers to position the teased-up sections so they fall toward the back of your head. Secure the pieces with 2 hair-colored pins.
- You can apply a spritz of hairspray to set you new messy hairstyle.
