How to Fix Summer-Damaged Hair in Four Steps

It's the end of August and many women are facing a real problem – how to fix their hair that was damaged during long and hot summer days.

High temperatures, the salt water and chlorine, and the heat from blow dryers and flat irons can make havoc for any hair like nothing else.

Here are four things you can do to rescue your hair for the fall.

- First thing you need to do is to cut of the dead ends. This is the most damaged part of your hair, so get rid of it. Yes, I know, it can be tough to say good-bye to inches that needed months to grow, but you MUST do it to refresh you hair.

- Resist the temptation to shampoo your hair every day. It's not doing you any good. It just makes your hair and scalp more dry. Shampoo every 2-3 days. You can use a dry shampoo on the in-between days if you feel the urge to do something with your hair.

- Next rescue step is using a deep conditioner. It's the best solution for dry, damaged hair. You can try Moroccanoil masque.

- If you are suffering from extreme hair dryness, try this natural recipe. Mix a half cup of olive oil and 3 to 5 capsules of vitamin E. Heat this mixture and apply it to damp hair using a comb. Wait for 20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly, shampoo and condition.

Do these four steps and your hair will be rescued.
