The popularity of FUE hair transplant is growing every day. According to a hair restoration surgeon, Dr. Alan Bauman, FUE hair transplants will surpass the traditional strip-harvest method in just 3 to 5 years.
FUE stands for Follicular-Unit Extraction, which is a less-invasive no-scalpel/no-stitch hair transplantation procedure. On the other hand, the traditional strip-harvest method requires the use of scalpel and stitches, which results in a visible linear scar at the donor site.
FUE allows the surgeon to restore living and growing hair to balding patients without the traditional removal of a large strip of ‘donor’ skin from the back of the head.
