Ceramic Hair Straighteners Warning
A leading hair expert from Australia has issued a health warning about ceramic hair straighteners.
He has warned that a lot of women are using the device the wrong way. The women who are most likely to use them incorrectly are young girls.
What has caused this warning?
A medical research showed that there is an increase in women coming to hospitals with severe burns from the hair irons.
In addition, a number of straighteners have a teflon outside layer containing a cancer-causing chemical.
Due to overuse of ceramic hair straighteners, women are burning their scalps and suffering permanent hair loss.
Some women are using the irons too close to their scalp, causing burns. Or they are pulling their hair so straight that follicles around the hairline are pulled out as well.
The good news is that using straighteners in moderation is fine.
