Find Out Why Women Lose Their Hair

Why do you lose hair? What exactly causes a woman to lose her hair? There are several reasons why women lose their hair.

It’s normal for women to lose hair as they approach middle age. However, temporary or permanent hair loss can happen at younger ages.

The most usual cause is genetics.

Temporary hair loss can be caused by stress. This stress can be triggered by serious illness, emotional problems, etc.

Another reason why women experience hair thinning is attributed to hormonal changes or imbalances. It can be an over- or under-active thyroid, or pregnancy.

Some medicines like blood thinners, medicines for gout, drugs that treat cancer, an excess of vitamin A, certain birth control pills and antidepressants can also cause temporary hair loss.

Severe damage to the hair (hair styles that pull or chemically treated hair) may instigate hair loss. In this case, hair loss may be permanent if the hair follicles are badly damaged.
