Does Laser Hair Growth Work?

Lots of people who are suffering from hair loss have one question in mind: does laser hair growth work? Can it really help them grow hair? The answer is yes and this was confirmed by many studies.

Lasers combat hair loss thanks to the process called photo-biostimulation. It was first discovered by Andre Mester, a researcher from the Semmelweis University of Budapest. He made this revolutionary discovery while conducting an experiment on mice.

Mester shaved the mice and divided them in two groups. One of them was constantly exposed to the laser. The other remained untouched. What happened next was unbelievable. Mester found that the mice exposed to the cold laser light were regrowing their hair much quicker than the mice who were not receiving this light.

And the best part was that all this happened with no side effects at all! Here is how lasers work:

In a laser hair comb, red (or cool) light is emitted. It passes through the soft tissues of the scalp and about five millimetres into the hair follicles. There, ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) is converted to ADP (Adenosine Diphosphate).

This process increases cellular metabolism by increasing the cell’s intake of nutrients. In addition, damaged cells get replaced or repaired quickly. This results in increased hair growth.

Besides the increased blood flow, laser treatment also increases the diameter of hair shafts and improve the overall quality of hair.

Laser hair combs are an effective hair loss treatment. They are very user-friendly, safe to use and as said above, they have no side effects what so ever. Their effectiveness can be additionally increased by using minoxidil and DHT blocking supplements.
