Porous Hair Problems

Women face many hair problems. One of them is porous hair.

This type of hair quickly absorbs whatever you put on it. Hair that is porous also soaks up the humidity in the air.

Porous hair is weakened hair. Excessively -porous hair releases moisture easily which causes it to become dry and easily damaged.

A good indication that you have porous hair is if it gets flat on extremely dry days and frizzy on humid ones.

Coarse, straightened, permed or permanently colored hair is regularly porous.

A good thing about porous hair is that it accepts color faster and permits darker color than hair that has less porosity.

What to do about this problem?

Use an acidic rinse during every shampoo; this will help keep the cuticle strong and intact. The acidity minimizes the porousness of the hair shaft.

Use a rich conditioner and leave on as long as you can. Use products containing proteins and humectants. Also try silicon serums. Wear a hat during hot summer days.

i have dyed my hair alot and because of this my hair has become very porous, therfore when i dyed it a semi- permanent dark brown it went black! even when i went on holiday the dye did not fade at all.. i then tried a color fix solution which stripped my hair of the dye but when i dyed over this (as instructed) with a ‘dark blonde’ in the hope that it would turn a light brown my hair went back to the BLACK which was a complete disaster. i recently contacted a hairdresser who told me that she could not bleach my hair as it would snap so i should wait 8 more weeks so that the dye washes out completely…
    1) my hair looks awful and i cant continue for 8 more weeks this way and..
    2) the dye just DOES NOT wash out no matter what i do!
i think this is because my hair is just so porous after all the treating..
please help me does anybody know what i could do!?
