Two Little-Known Causes of Hair Loss

First little-known cause of hair loss is infection outbreaks on teeth!

Researchers at the Department of Stomatology of the University of Granada, found that the bald patches, called alopecia areata or localized alopecia, are closely tied to infections of the teeth.

Alopecia areata begins with bald patches on the scalp and it occurs in males and females of all ages. The disease affects 1 out 1000 people.

Next time you notice localized hair loss - visit your dentist.

Second little-known cause of hair loss is smoking!

A team of international researchers found that smoking makes men prematurely bald as it accelerates the process of hair loss.

They found that smoking causes hair loss by lowering the supply of blood to the hair follicles.

As a matter of fact, so deep is the impact of smoking on hair health that it even causes hair loss in Asian men, who are genetically less likely to lose hair than white Caucasian men.
