1. The size of your shampoo dollop depends on your hair type. Using too much can make your hair dry; using too little will leave oils and styling residue. For thick hair, use a nickel to a quarter size. For fine hair, use a dime to a nickel size.
2. Conditioner cannot penetrate into hair full of water. You need to squeeze your hair strands to remove excess water before you apply conditioner.
3. You should only apply conditioner where you need it – for most women it is near the ends. Women with dry, coarse or damaged hair should apply it all over their hair.
4. Don’t style soaking wet hair. Your hair must be 98% dry before you use a brush. Your hair won’t hold a style if it is not almost completely dry.
5. You need to prepare your hair before using a flat iron – comb through your strands first.
