How to Take Care of Hair in Winter Months

During the cold winter months hair typically suffers from static and usually becomes dull and lifeless.

Here are 7 simple winter hair care tips:

1. Wash hair every second or third day. This will allow the natural oils from your scalp o nourish your hair.

2. Shampoo with a moisture-rich product and condition your hair after every shampooing. Deep condition at a salon or use salon products at home.

3. Protect your hair before using hot hair styling tools. Use a protective thermal spray before ironing. Also use the lowest heat setting on the hair dryer.

4. Use hairspray to avoid static and fly-aways. Spray dry-finish hairspray onto your hair brush and brush gently over hair.

5. Do not use hats in winter because they play a role in the creation of fly-aways, dull and tangled hair. Use a headband or ear muffs instead. If you still want to wear a hat, add texturizing paste to fix your hair.
6. Schedule a trim every 6 to 8 weeks.

7. Avoid going outside with a wet hair; this can cause hair to freeze and break.
