Lemon is a traditional hair lightener. Lemon juice will lighten any hair color; however, it works fastest and best for blondes and lighter browns.

Here is how to lighten hair with lemon juice

Strain the juice of two lemons into a quart of water. Put the mixture on your hair.

Go out into the sunlight to dry your hair. This way you will get the most from the lightening effect and create more dramatic ‘beach’ effect.

The process can dry your hair, so use lots of conditioner.

To create sun streaks, apply the mixture to specific strands of wet hair, while avoiding other strands.
