Diet for Thinning Hair

Diet can play a big role in hair thinning and so addressing this part of your life is very important.

First, take a look at your iron intake. Thinning hair is often a sign of long-term poor iron intake. The problem is that many women do not get enough iron.

Foods rich in this mineral include lean red meat, oily fish, eggs, some pulses, fortified breakfast cereals and dark green vegetables, such as spinach.

You should have at least one iron-rich food every day and also include a daily multivitamin and mineral supplement that gives you around 14mg of iron.

It is also important to get enough iodine in your diet. Try to regularly eat foods such as fish.

Iodine is crucial for a healthy thyroid gland which controls the activity of hair follicles as well as the rate of hair growth.
