Scientists have found a way to restore natural color to white hair! They have created a drug that restores white hair to its natural color.
Researchers from Manchester University and Lubeck University, in Germany, used a molecule to stimulate the pigment melanin responsible for hair color.
The drug, known only as K(D)PT, triggered the production of pigmentation in hair samples tested in a lab.
Researchers suggested the method could be used as an “anti-graying agent”.
Unfortunately, this is laboratory research and not yet ready for use on people.
However, these findings could potentially pave the way for new therapies that restore color to white hair.
At the moment, this research only applies to people whose hair has turned white following illness.
The research is published in the British Journal of Dermatology.
