How to Fishtail Plait Hair
The catwalk shows revealed a lot of hair plaits this season. Just look at Giles’ Autumn Winter show.
This unstructured style is great if you want to camouflage the reality that your hair is dirty.
Textured fishtail plaits work really well on layered hair. Here are tips on how to create this style at home.
- Before you begin, make sure you have removed all the knots.
- Apply some mousse so that plaits will stay in.
- Divide your hair into 5 sections.
- Divide one of the sections into two.
- Next, take a strand from underneath each half, and loop it outwards and over the top, between the two halves.
- Start plaiting.
- Leave some strands of hair outside the plaits. You can tuck them in or add later for a textural impression.
- Do this on all sections of the hair.
- You may need help with the back-of-the-head section!
