Reasons for Thinning Hair in Women

Hair that is in the process of becoming sparser is called thinning hair. Here are some most common reasons for thinning hair in women.

- Aging. Thinning hair is a natural part of aging and it happens even among the healthiest women.

- Genetic predisposition, meaning there is a family history of thinning hair. Condition called androgenetic alopecia.

- Health problems such as hypothyroidism (an under active thyroid gland).

-Using specific medications such as chemotherapy, hormone medications, birth control pills.
- Stress and trauma.

- Poor diet including vitamin or mineral deficiency, mostly iron.

- Over processing your hair (regular chemical processes).
