How to Care for Hair Extensions

One of the easiest ways to improve your look and dramatically changing your style is to wear hair extensions.

But you need to take care of them. Both synthetic and real extensions must be cared for in order to extend their life.

How to Care for Hair Extensions

- During the first month, when the attachments are still new, don’t wash or brush hair upside down. This can cause the hair to be torn out.

- Use a soft tipped brush. Begin at the ends of your hair and gently work your way up.

- You also need to brush the hair and remove all tangles before washing.

- When shampooing, do it gently and do not rub the hair against each other. Use a good quality, gentle shampoo.

- Do not use conditioner on attachment points.

- Squeeze excess water out. Don’t rub hair to towel dry.

- Dry the bonding points immediately after washing.

- Use an ionic dryer to dry your hair.

- Never go to bed with them wet. Always tie back hair loosely when sleeping.

- Never apply a flat or curling iron at bond points.

- Do not to spray the extensions with silicone based products.

- Always wear a swim cap made of latex when swimming in the pool or ocean. After swimming, wash your hair immediately.
