Hair Dye Risks

A lot of chemicals currently used in hair dyes can pose a health risk, experts have warned.

A new study about the risks that come with using hair dye, conducted by the scientists advising the European Commission, put to the test 46 hair dye ingredients.

They discovered that a considerably high proportion were skin sensitisers and could cause allergies.

The scientists found 10 to be extreme sensitisers, 13 were strong and 4 moderate.

4 years ago, another study by the same scientists, discovered that there is a link between long-term use of permanent hair dye and the development of bladder cancer!

Hair dyeing is very popular. According to a Danish research, the average age for the first salon hair dye experiment is 16.
