Is Highlighting Gray Hair OK?
For whatever reasons, lots of people do not want to color their gray hair. Instead, they are thinking about highlighting gray hair to brighten it.
But, is this solution the right thing to do? No, it is not.
It will result in too much damage because gray hair is weaker and more brittle due to less pigment in the hair follicles.
Unlike, healthy, strong hair, gray locks can’t withstand the chemical processing. It will turn yellow and break.
A much better option is to lowlight your natural color to add dimension. This procedure is less damaging as it only deposits color.
The safest solution is to go with your gray and stay away from any coloring and just use a brightening shampoo, such as Phyto Phytargent.
