Most popular hair style in 2009 is Blake Lively’s long, blond, messy locks.

According to the New York Times’ recent survey, Blake Lively’s mane is by far the most requested by salon clients.

Women all over the US want to look exactly like the young actor’s character, Serena van der Woodsen from the popular TV drama Gossip Girl.

The ‘problem’ with this hairstyle is that it only works on tall, skinny women.

However, this fact doesn’t discourage women to try the look.

According to the NY Times, the popular hairstyle costs around $1,200 per month, just for the cut and maintenance.

The interesting thing is the reaction of Ms. Lively when asked about her hair’s popularity. She said: “I didn’t really realize the extent of it.”
